Villainous hustler Vanessa
Vanessa (Alex Datcher) is the main villainess from Martin's fourth season opener, "Martin in the Corner Pocket" (airdate September 3, 1995).
The episode has the newly married Martin playing pool with Tommy and Cole (despite Gina's reservations), when the trio is encountered by Vanessa, resulting in a game which Martin easily wins over Vanessa. Just as he's about to head home, Martin is challenged by Vanessa, who offers a $20 per ball wager. After Martin turns her down, Vanessa goads him by challenging his masculinity, which leads to them playing for Martin's watch.
However, in this go around, Vanessa's first shot results in many balls going in pockets, which revealed Vanessa as a devious pool hustler. As the episode progressed, the scheming villainess defeated Martin in 13 straight outings, winning the trio's watches and Martin's clothes. In the last scenes of the episode, Martin arrived home hours later than planned, and after failed attempts to cover up the truth, he revealed to Gina that he was hustled at pool, but by a man. However, the evil Vanessa appeared at Martin's front door and returned his shoes, stating that they didn't fit her boyfriend. Her appearance caused even more humiliation towards Martin, as Gina heard everything and realized that he was hustled by a woman.
