Redeemed villainess Bernice Haskins
Bernice Haskins (Meeghan Holaway) is a hidden redeemed villainess from the 2006 film, Inspector Mom. She is the wife of Donny Haskins and a friend of main protagonist Maddie Monroe.
As Maddie found out early in the film, Bernice was having an affair with girls' soccer coach Joseph Rovira, as she spotted the two of them together. Rovira was found murdered later on, and Donny and Bernice were each suspected for separate reasons. Maddie's investigation featured a reveal provided by Becca Lee, which stated that Rovira's cash flow was connected to Barry's Orchard Shop, which was owned by Barry Clarkson, a person who Becca stated didn't exist. Maddie took the information as part of a hunch she had, which turned out to be correct, as she went to Bernice and looked up her high school photo, which had her birth name: Bernice Clarkson.
As it turned out, not only was Bernice having an affair with Rovira, Bernice turned heel and stole money from the Garden Club, which had her as a member. The villainess colluded with Rovira in the scheme, which had Rovira pocketing the money to fund his gambling habit. As part of the plan, the evil Bernice started her orchard business to launder the money, and during her attempt to deny the claims, Bernice let it slip that Maddie had no proof of her connection to Joseph, only for Maddie to reveal that she never mentioned him by name. Realizing that she was caught, Bernice confessed to the scheme and the affair, but stated that she didn't kill Rovira, as she was surrounded by a group of soccer moms at the time of the murder, The denial turned out to be true, as Rovira's killer was revealed to be another of his lovers, and regarding Bernice, Maddie promised to keep her secret if Bernice stopped her thefts, with Bernice agreeing to the terms, marking her redemption.
